Location

The popular small town of Chudleigh still retains a village atmosphere with lots of community spirit and character, surrounded by unspoilt Devon countryside. Chudleigh sits between Exeter and Newton Abbot, close to the edge of Dartmoor National Park and in the popular Teign Valley. Dartmoor National Park is best known for its striking granite tors, steep wooded river valleys and heather covered moorland, offering a wide selection of recreational opportunities such as walking, cycling, riding and fishing on the River Dart. Many of the region's finest beaches are within easy driving distance. The well regarded Chudleigh Primary School is located in the town along with regular bus services. For secondary schools you have the popular Teign School in Kingsteignton. Chudleigh offers a wealth of local amenities including shops, a cricket field, a swimming pool, football pitches, allotments, parks, grade 1 listed parish church, a doctors’ surgery, a dentist and a library. For larger shops there are supermarkets in Kingsteignton, Newton Abbot and Exeter. The market towns of Totnes and Newton Abbot have a mainline railway station with direct links to London Paddington, along with Exeter St David's, and to London Waterloo from Exeter Central station. There is also an international airport in Exeter. The A38 (Devon Expressway) which by-passes the town provides good access to Plymouth, Exeter and the M5 motoway network. The A380 connects Torbay.

Accommodation

You enter the property into a convenient entrance porch with space for coats, shoes and boots with the first staircase leading to the first floor. A door to the left leads into the living room which boasts a large open grate inglenook fireplace which is certainly the focal point of the room. Many local properties in the area have unearthed slate floor tiles, this is certainly something worth investigating for those who fancy a project! Heading towards the kitchen into the inner lobby there is a large under stairs cupboard with the second staircase leading to the first floor. The Farmhouse style kitchen has a selection of base units with a separate walk-in larder for further storage. There is a gas 'range' style cooker with 4 ring hob, grill over and double oven below. Space for washing machine, fridge/freezer, table and chairs with the back door to the rear courtyard. Moving up to the first floor which holds bedrooms 4, 2/Studio and the family bathroom. Bedroom 2/Studio is large with a staircase leading back down to the entrance hallway, and a sash window allowing in lots of natural light - we can see why it's currently used as a studio! Bedroom 4 is a large single enjoying the sash window to the rear of the property. The family bathroom includes a three-piece suite comprising bath, WC and wash hand basin with tiled splashbacks. Moving up to the second floor there are two further double bedrooms. Bedroom 3 is an L-shaped room (due to the en-suite bathroom); bedroom 3 also has an airing cupboard housing the boiler, with a sash window enjoying views over the Chudleigh rooftops and surrounding countryside. Bedroom 1 is a very generous double bedroom with a sash window to the front aspect and a built in storage cupboard; there is a large loft space for further storage or conversion (subject to planning requirements).

Outside

To the rear of the property there is a small courtyard area, perfect for some pot plants. There is on-street parking nearby and a car park a short walk away which is very reasonably priced - please call us for more information.
